How many kids grew up in the 80's and were addicted to Mortal Kombat? I was on MK since the first one! Wasn't too keen on the departure after MK Trilogy, but it's been a brill franchise for the more grown up grewsome fighting gamer.

My favourite character has always been Noob Saibot. He's been through different guises but this level of shape shifting is sick! Think this is my new must have game next month. It's just sick and slick. Fantastic fighting gameplay is back.

Vampire Weekend - Walcott

The best Vampire Weekend song ever? They've only had 2 records out, but I am ADDICTED to the poppy calypso chiming piano clinking riffs these guys throw out for fun!

It's quite simple really - make music to make people smile. That's what these guys do, and it seriously delivers good vibes and feet tapping mantras all day long.

I love these guys and they kick ass when it comes to simple sounding pop music.

Indie pop for people who like their lamb chop tunes nice and lean.

Mmm... nice.

Kanye West - Blame Game (Feat. John Legend)

So Yeezy's album has leaked (as usual), but it's looking pretty hot in terms of content. I was always happy with the quality assurance of the G.O.O.D Friday offerings, and the album doesn't seem to disappoint at all.

There's some great stuff on there - most of it largely main stream colab's with all the usual suspects - from Pusha T, Jay-Z, Rihanna, John Legend and KiD CuDi; however there is some solid content and futuristic forward thinking hip-hop music which ensures we all kick back and do some serious reflecting on our lives as each track cuts in and out.

I love it, and it makes me believe in the warp and twisted mind of Kanye. He's still trying to get everyone to understand him; but I can't help feeling that he will never beat his true demon... himself?

This song, Blame Game, is a interesting take on relationships and the struggle we all go through to make one another happy - it's capped off with a great skit from Chris Rock.

It's not a case of a genius at work... but more like a smart guy misunderstood by the mundane word we live in.

Give him a break, and give it a listen.

I went to Alton Towers today to watch the Firework show - it was amazing and reminded me just how much of a kid I still am! :)

It was done on a BIG scale and had a laser show and great music to go with it too.

I love everything about them, and it got me thinking of some of my favourite songs.

Cee-Lo Green - The Lady Killer

In my head and in my dreams, I am a Lady Killer! lol... But when you listen to Cee-Lo's new album, Lady Killer, that's exactly how you feel when bopping your feet with the rhythmic head nodding in sync.

This is a wonderful brightly lit record with lush pearly sounds and sweeping strings and blazing brass bands to fit. It's seriously retro and very much motowm in places too. Songs such as 'F$ck You', 'Cry Baby', 'Wildflower', 'I Want You' and 'Bright Lights Bigger City' epitomise this so well - and very freely too. You just can't have enough bass and brass on a record I reckon!

It's instantly infectious and hip struttingly chic - a very classy mix of the right shot of pop and a good large dose of quality genius-rum to go with.

I'm spinning it hard and would recommend it across all open minded music types.

Love the tune 'Wildflower' - but in all honesty, there all pretty well put together on here. That's what you come to expect from Cee-Lo, and that's exactly what you get peeps :)

Lil Wayne - Shoot Me Down

OK, this is my fave Weezy song - well, for now at least!?

The Carter 3 was perhaps one of the best hip hop albums to date. It's deep in it's variations of musical layers and Weezy explores a variety of issues and song genres to make this an accomplished album.

I could listen to this album all day - any song on it competes with the next, every tune lingers well after it's finished, and the imagery it creates is vividly memorable.

This song is the killer track for me. Very much a soulful suicidal song to haunt the more darker moments we all travel to... Whether more frequently than we would prefer to.

Daft Punk - Derezzed (Tron Legacy)

More amazing stuff from the original score of Tron Legacy by Daft Punk.

This is a great tune - very futuristic, with classic Daft Punk noise frequencies and fax machine style house music (if there is such a thing?!)

I cannot comprehend the vast array of noises and technical sound bites that feature on this tune - and it's still only one of a few tunes to be put out prior to release of the movie in the next couple of months.

I like the way Daft Punk actually feature briefly in the movie too (if you look closely towards the end of this video).

It's looking hot and I reckon it will be one of the biggest movies this year - and possibly one of the best selling movie soundtracks this year too.

The question is... would I be this much into a movie if it wasn't for the Daft Punk soundtrack?... who knows - either way, this tune is mind bogglingly good :)

Mack Maine - My Reality (Feat. Lil Wayne & Gudda Gudda)

I'm not entirely sure what Lil Wayne is up to these days musically, since the drop of I Am Not A Human Being - he's been putting out stuff on the web and I can't complain regarding the quality - it's all still there.

However, he's guest starred on the latest offering from Mack Maine who is going to blow up shortly I reckon. He's on the Young Money band wagon and he's got enough backing and people behind the scenes to ensure he is a successful product.

This tune is a nice weezy dirty hazy arrangement - with the classic YMCM big beat break and heavy pounding bass drop as regularly featured on a lot of the Young Money stuff.

Not entirely sure what their rapping about - seems to be about drugs, girls, music, and cars - your usual working week for these guys I guess. Nice to see Gudda Gudda throwing himself about these days too.

It's a hot tune and probably going to blow up real big soon too. I especially like the weird voice recorder electro stuff they do to the vocals - it makes for a better sounding and engaging listen to the growly snarling rapping.

Turned up loud - then the head nodding ensues :)

Child Rebel Soldier - Us Placers

I've recently been listening to a fair bit of Kanye, but I checked these guys out and it's pretty amazing stuff. They can certainly rap and ad lib well, and their beats are pretty dope too.

Kanye and Lupe deliver some clever imaginative rhymes but all in all it's good decent hip hop music. Nothing spectacular, nothing ground breaking, just clever music really.

Check them out if you can - it's worth a spin folks :)

This is insane - love the mixing, cutting, fading, screwing and general mish mash of all there songs and samples for the live crowd. This was truly amazing dance music at it's best.

Daft Punk - Tron Legacy

Like most geeks, I've been waiting for the Daft Punk Soundtrack to the Tron Legacy to hit the airwaves - but it's still pretty hush right now. There's a complete website dedicated to the soundtrack itself - as linked here

This is going to be absolutely large - not just the soundtrack itself, but the movie is looking fantastic. I've watched the trailers and listened to the scraps of Daft Punk tunes that will make it onto the soundtrack - and they are pretty sick!

There's nothing like future proof electro shock music by Daft Punk to get the blood flowing I can tell you. This tune is very infectious and pulsates with a deep growly bass line that shakes your spine if turned up even slightly loud.

I'm excited about the movie and the soundtrack to drop - not long left now; but the thought of some new Daft Punk is absolutely brilliant!

It's been ages since these guys were back on the scene, but I'm very happy that they came back in a big way.

N.E.R.D - Nothing

Is there anyone who loves hip hop music and DOESN'T LOVE the new N.E.R.D stuff off their new record Nothing?? I don't think so - this record is an absolute banger!!

I've been checking out the tunes and it's totally fresh and sizzling with flavour - lots of snarey drumming and clugging bass guitars give that feel of a moody bluesy band with a horizontal chillaxing vibe.

My current fave tunes are Party People, Hot n Fun, Nothing On You, Hypnotize U, Help Me and Life As A Fish.

These songs still have that smokey jazz feel - but there's a strong current of electro thrown in; this is best seen on the song Hypnotize U, as it features an almost airy and infectious arrangement from Daft Punk.

There's some great crazy 70' psychedelia thrown in there too; and this wide selection of what can only be described as 'world music', is more than welcome from a band who seemingly stuck to their guns with heavy dusty drums and deep frogging bass lines.

All in all, I reckon it's the best record yet - the most accessible, the most wide ranging, and the most uplifting too.

Well done boys - I'm sure many will agree with open arms too :)

P.S. Here's a live version of their big club tune on the record, Party People, which actually features T.I. I do like the way the line 'What I need what I need is that girl there' sounds very similar to the MJ classic 'Don't Stop'? Bit geeky that :)

Taylor Swift - Innocent

Taylor Swift has to be my guilty pleasure - amongst my collection of hardcore hip hop, grime, rock n' roll and indie music; I've always got room for some Taylor!

I loved this VMA performance, it was very mature and grown up - yet her new LP has all sorts of tweenie stuff on it. It's still getting some rotation on my iPod - but she's one of those artists I'm embarrassed to say I listen to ;)

Here's another great track from his G.O.O.D Friday's giveaways. It's pretty good (as usual with his quality control) and got that whole crazy future psychedelic sh@t all over it again! Love the fact that Mos Def has finally got in on it along with Big Sean; as usual Lupe Fiasco is there carrying the ball safely too.

I'm always gonna say this, but Kanye is the sh@t and I love his stuff. Can't wait to hear his stuff from the Jay-Z duo album soon too.

Example - Kickstarts

Got this guys album and it's seriously dope. 'Won't Go Quietly' isn't your typical dance album with a few singles on it; it's very deep in it's roots and there's a bit of everything on there to be honest. Some grime stuff, some dance stuff, some big beat stuff and general clubbie stuff too.

I rate Example because he's stepped out of the traditional 'this is what dance music should be' persona and just put out a great sounding record for all types to like.

You don't have to love dance music to love this record, there's plenty to keep you busy. My fave tracks are probably 'Won't go Quietly', 'Last One Standing' and 'Kickstarts' - but there's loads of top stuff on here to keep your head nodding and face smiling.

The big single off this record was 'Kickstarts' - it's a nice aide memoir to people rolling in and out of relationships when you think you've found 'it'... but then realise it's not 'it', and the new thing might be 'it', but you're just not sure what 'it' is anymore? lol

I love this song and I'm sure there's loads of people who do too.

... And the love kickstarts again :) lovely...

Nelly Feat. Chris Brown & Plies - Long Gone

Nelly isn't back!... the boy never left as far as I was concerned!

This tune has that great 80's beat sample and those retro synths all over it. It does remind me of old skool Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan, but with some tight rapping from Nelly and Plies, and smooth sauce drizzled all over it by Chris Brown - it's a real winner this joint.

Think the tune itself is about stealing someones girl from right under their feet, but there's nothing consciously wrong with that when being discussed in a over produced rap song is there? lol

I like the feel of this song, it's more of a RnB track than an all out hip hop offering, but it fits real well in the demands of Nelly fans awaiting his real grown up comeback to the game.

It's definitely worth a spin and I'm sure there's quite a few Nelly fans who will be pleased with this return to form I reckon :)

YG - Toot It & Boot It Remix (Feat 50 Cent)

50 Cent is back again and is spittin' all sorts of crazy sh$t with the boy YG. Loving the remix he's done here; it's got that old dusty crackly sound with a hugging bass line and ripply piano clinking throughout.

I've always loved 50's swagger and the way he mumbles and spits through his gritted teeth when he rhymes, but this tune is all nasty and crazy in a real bad way too!

Love listening to this song very loud in my headphones, it's got that laid back southern feel to it and a load of dirty attitude to spare. It's been a while since I last heard a hip hop song that made me think...'damn, this sh%ts good?', but I guess 50 doesn't really put his name on anything that he doesn't believe in,... or support, or approve, or simply can't make some serious money off!

So I'm feelin' this tune and loving the arrangement all over it... So what does 'toot it & boot it' actually mean again?? ;) xo

Kate Nash - Paris (Live in Paradiso)

I'll say this... I've always loved, and will always love Kate Nash. Her music has always created great vibes with me, and it's the sort of music I like to listen to when I'm restless and itching with randomness. It's really thought provoking and her cockney rhyme-lullabies are great fun on the mind.

In terms of her music being labelled as leaning towards the female of the species is unfair; I certainly feel that anyone willing to listen to heartfelt emotions littered across a few tracks will love Kate Nash.

My fave song off 'My Best Friend Is You' is 'Paris'. It's a no holds barred brass band piano chugging affair of tippy toe mercurialism! It's a great bicycle ride of a song that evokes feelings of warm friendship and telling people all sorts of bonkers barminess!

It's ace, it's heart warming, and for all it's worth - it makes for great music for poker dot dress wearing girls to shake to ;)

Taylor Swift - Speak Now

Now you I know you all love Taylor Swift right?! This girl epitomises what's so amazing about the teenie pop folky scene right now... Which is that if you put enough make-up on it, enough money behind it and enough promo all over it - then you can easily devour the teen masses.

Believe it or not, I did get 'Fearless' and I'm slightly embarrassed to say... That it was actually very good!?! Her music is written very well with cliche verses and imagery - but there's nothing wrong with that I reckon.

I do like this pop tune 'Speak Now', it's timidly paced and chirpy in all sorts of ways. Very catchy and fun is what it really succeeds to be, but its not a bad thing to have a bit of Taylor in amongst your Kings Of Leon and The XX tunes?... Right?? Lol

It doesn't have to be serious all the time, sometimes it's OK to say... "hey, I love Taylor Swift man!" :)

Shakira - Islands (The XX Cover) Live

Now when I heard about this cover, I was a bit worried - especially coz I love love love The XX. But this version by the very original and unique Shakira has got a thumbs up from me.

It retains the sentiments from the original meaning of the XX version, but I like the fact that she stepped it up a couple of gears.

There are still a few of the original samples in there - but all in all, it's a decent effort from a decent artist.

Whether XX fans will agree is another topic altogether - but I like it... After all, it's the only decent tune she has on 'Sale El Sol', and 'She Wolf' was just OK... But I am a bloke - and she is well fit too ;)

Kings Of Leon - Come Around Sundown

OK, so who's got the new Kings of Leon record 'Come Around Sundown' - well, I have and after all the hype and general hysteria... it's OK... no really, it's just 'alright'.

Nothing ground breaking, nothing over the top, nothing too far out - just a nice 'in the middle of the road' record for none offensive listening types.

It doesn't pull at your heart strings, it won't make you think deep serious thoughts, and it wont make you wanna 'rock out with your c$ck out!' - but hey, I bet all KOL fans will love this record.

I've got a few faves already; namely Beach Side, Radioactive, No Money, The Face and Back Down South. These are simple songs with no fancy stuff - no extra trimmings, no fancy buckles and no fireworks. Plain and simple KOL folks... but I never said that was a bad thing?

I love these guys and I'll probably be one of those guys who will always run for the next KOL record on release day, but it's not the most exciting album on the block right now.

Give it a listen - or as I have done, listen to the short interviews they've released out there. This one above is about my fave-bestest-loveliest song on the record, Beach Side.

It's simple, flat pack assembly tune'age for the not so fussy people... with a bit of a tendency to make you shake yo' hips to doll ;)

Queen - Under Pressure (Wembley Stadium 1986)

I was driving to work today and everything was fine and dandy. I parked up and locked the car, and as I started to walk away, I noticed that one of my tyres had a slow puncture! Well, I thought of the hassle of getting it changed - but then I remembered that it could have been due to the tyre being 'under pressure' - then I started laughing as I walked and humming this tune.

Thant's all really - I never got into Queen too much, but this song is their best one for me; and it was even better when David Bowie ripped it up too!

So I'm getting my tyre sorted - and I've got this tune on loop on my iPhone - enough said :)

Meiko Kaji - The Flower of Carnage

So if you loved the Kill Bill score that RZA did, then you know there were some very varied and wide ranging songs on there. One in particular that stood out in my mind was a song by Meiko Kaji.

I'll be honest - I'd never heard of the lady, let alone wonder what era/genre her music fell in. However, being the open minded varied dude that I am, I gave it a few spins and realised something very quickly.

This music is beautifully deep and rich in swooping strings and soft flutes throughout. Her voice is mesmerising - absolutely heartfelt all the way.

The movie was a blast, the performances memorable, and the score was awesome too. But this song - this song opened up my mind to a new kind of music.

The flower of carnage is anything but; more like delicate petals showering your face on a crisp spring morning.

... It's just beautiful really :)

The XX - Shelter (Live)

Following my ongoing love for The XX, this is another great song off their award winning album. Amongst the hardcore XX fans; this song has a very, very special place in their hearts.

There have been lots of fans, arty folk and general budding filmy peeps making videos/short films to this song. It has a strong message and vivid meaning regarding relationships, and the ebb and flow of being in one. Need to give props to yevainethesky for this video.

It's a very moody and stern piece of blissful tune'age. Sometimes we all say things in the heat of the moment, perhaps it's when the lights are off and our heads hit the pillow, or even when we irrationally send texts/emails in fits of rage - this song puts all of that onto a few bars and makes it a real experience in musical form.

The key line in this song that everyone seems to sing/hum/mumble to themselves (including myself!) is 'Maybe I had said. Something that was wrong. Can I make it better with the lights turned on'.

For lovers... and fighters everywhere ;)

DJ Shadow - Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt

When I was about 15 years old, I thought trip hop music was the future and they way forward for everything!... Nothing touched it and everything else was rubbish. I was spending all my pocket money on records by David Holmes, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, PJ Harvey, Mr.Scruff and DJ Shadow.

DJ Shadow was the beginning and end of all things big beat trip-hop for me. I couldn't get enough of the clunky beats and breaks, the moody deathly drums, the jerky-awkwardness of his beats, and that always perfect pinpoint delivery he had with the 808 drum machine and decks was standard.

This tune was the killer one for me. It was the one that made me get all serious about big beat trip-hop music - and a decade on since, I'm still searching for music that makes me feel the same way ever since.

This is a real fave for my moody-bluesy evenings - nothing comes close to the drum machine surround scape soundtrack that is DJ Shadow.

Foals - Blue Blood

On my recent adventure for music that has been calming and tranquil - my daily pit stop has always included my fave boys Foals.

I always feel that every time I play a Foals tune in my headphones, I'm taken into a musical maths lesson and my ears are learning a new rhythmic algebra algorithm - their music is delivered with such scientific poise and accuracy - each beat, each strum, each chord, and each bar is simply rich with colour.

Their recent album Total Life Forever is like a world ticket for music lovers - travelling through a lush jungle of noises and beats that take a few listens to identify exactly where they origin from and how exotic they really are.

Gotta give these dudes props for pushing the boundaries further with each song they layout. Or as I like to call it - music for clever people.

The XX - VCR

OK, so these guys have blown up now and since Mercury Music Prize fame, they've been pretty much everywhere. From T.V adverts, backing music on BBC programmes, and accompanying all U.S teen drama make out scenes; you cannot deny these guys there dues.

For such a young outfit, their music sound really adult and grown up. It's the sort of chill out music you can have on in the background, or alternatively just simply put your headphones on and drift off to a world of make believe.

It's music for a new generation of kids - kids who want something different to unwind to and not too much fuss over it either.

This one's a fave of mine, nice quaint plucks and soft tones dripping all over it. Only a few beats that go over a whisper and a musical pace to match that of normal breathing - why can't all music be this simply complicated - it sounds effortless, but deep enough to keep you hooked.

It's pleasing to know that there are still bands out there putting out wonderfully colourful and engaging music for everyone to enjoy - this is make-out music of the highest calibre ;)

Good Fridays have been kind to us of late, I thought Power Remix and Christian Dior Denim Flow were outstanding, but this tune raises the bar again. Lots of clever lyric play and thought provoking rhymage are all on show from Kanye & Co. Nice to see Pharrell getting in on the scene, with the new N.E.R.D stuff dropping - timing is everything?

But damn this song still kills it!

This is one my all time fave Lil Wayne songs ever... after the drop of 'I Am Not A Human Being' recently, this song has been getting a lot more rotation on the airwaves in the U.S.

I like the more chilled out laid back vibe Lil Wayne brings now and again. I guess most of his fans do; and he delivers hard everytime when he goes for that dirty nasty mouthed sex talk in the gutter guise - but I love it.

I ain't ashamed to love this song - it's just me in my dreams - and in there lives a lil Lil' Wayne in all of us loser boys... I'm single for the night...

Drake - I Get Lonely Too

I've loved this guy's music from day one... From So Far Gone, the Preview to Thank Me Later, and Thank Me Later itself; and every other feature he did in the run up. But I cannot get over the mellow r'n'b swag this guy pours all over this record.

For anyone that doubted this boy - he just s#%**ed on everyone!... And that's just the hook on this tune alone!

I love the idea of a sweet invitation to a girl Drake gives on this tune; kinda opening up even more and giving us a closer insight into his deeper side. Or maybe it's just another dope track for us all to gesticulate over?

Drake - you got it... And hopefully the haters will back off,... Well, for at least a while :)

Jeremih - Waiter (The 5 senses)

When it comes to tunes that should ONLY be played in the solitude of one's bedroom - many artists had the crown for such intimate bedroom antics; namely R Kelly, D'Angelo, Keith Sweat etc. However, I gotta give props to Jeremih. I'm sure he's tried to build a whole mantle peice full of the stuff judging by his latest album.

This guy has smooth lady love swagger dripping all off this tune - Waiter - and it fits so right for that 11pm feet up mind wandering point in the evening. I'm still spinning this record and feeling the more feminine side of hip hop.

I love the sexual imagery Jeremih creates by simply talking about serving food off a menu with silver service?? Now that's dope!! Lol :) whatever your opinion, such music should never be played openly outside the confines of one's headphones or bedroom Walls. Period... But I can be your waiter darling?... Xo ;)

Now Chris Brown has had a tough year since 'Rihanna' gate - but I think we can finally move on and concentrate on his latest assortment of tunes. His last offering, Deuces, was a nice heartfelt monologue depicting the struggles in a relationship; with the usual guest appearance of issues such as arguing, fighting and general 'pain in the ass' stuff.

However, the boy has now dropped a great remix with some of the hip-hop games favourite players. I love the effortless mish-mash of the guys. When Drake kicks it off, T.I follows up strong and Kanye and Andre place kick some wonderful imagery. That's what I love about hip-hop music right now; it's all looking colourful and well oiled. Just listen, kick back and let your imagination wander off... :)

No matter what you think of Kanye, you can't deny that Good Fridays have been awesome over the last several weeks. This is perhaps my favourite stand out track. It's got so many features on this - possibly rivalling Good Friday and Lord Lord Lord. Don't get me wrong, I love So Appalled and Monster, but this song is the s#%*!

It has also made me look at designer denim and Italian labels in general - but that's something altogether different; at the end of the day, Kanye's giving away decent brilliant music at no cost... The boy done good!

Lil Wayne - I Am Not A Human Being

The man's in prison but he's still dropping a new record! Damn, no one can stop Lil Wayne right? He's got features from Jay Sean, Nicki Minaj and Drake (the usual suspects really). It sounds kinda like a mish-mash of stuff, which if I'm being totally Frank - sounds like it's been rushed and not cleanly finished before it hit the shops.

Either way, it still will get a spin everywhere - and it's nice to see him go back to his hip-hop roots than from his rock guise.

I Am Not A Human Being is worth getting; if only to say you have... And that's about it really. P.s. His potty mouth is still there too. Such as the opening line from the above... "p**** for lunch"??... Where does he get such inspiration from... Hmm :)

Jeremih has some sick beats. Even on his last self titled LP; the boy smashed it with his bedroom swagger on tape for all to share in the privacy of their headphones. His new album is dope - nothing but hits and no fillers. Loving the jump off tune with 50, but look out for the 'Waiter Remix' with 50 too. The video above was also in 3D - for any geeks out there. This song is the backbone of 'Thank Me Later' I reckon. Such a thought provoking and sensitive rap song - lovely sentiments and moderate use of the 'F' word too!

It's been ages since I heard a song like this; kinda tune that stirs the right emotions and imagery to make you smile and appreciate Drake's intelligent story telling poetry.

Nothing wrong with getting in touch with your feminine side lads... Right?

If you had to have a theme tune to accompany you whilst you flew light speed through space in one of those space craft things... Well, this would be it for me!

Serious boys of grime killed it on this record - they've also hooked up with Plan B on 'End Credits', which is perhaps more grimey than dancey, but either way, Kano goes hard on this tune.

Loving the old skool feel all over this record; plus Kano spits quite imaginatively on each bar too. A real fresh b-boy tune to break to. Hot video - hot tune! End of.

In all honesty, I ain't feeling his usual Disney-touchy-feely-tweenie stuff, but this tune is heavy!

Is it all about the 'Bieber' these days? Seems like there's quite a few rappers getting their PR peeps to hook them up with this kid for some easy promo - but he's just everywhere right now isn't he.

I guess we'll just have to see how long he stays around for, but this tune with Usher is suprisingly good. Although teens singing about love is a bit daft right? Anyways, it's a killer beat and I likes.

Klaxons - Flashover

3 years since the last Klaxons stuff - and it's fair to say 'Myths of the near Future' was a roaring success as far as indie-disfunctional-new-rave-hypnotic-acid-beats was concerned.

This new tune however... well, it's a bit more... erm, samey? I'm not sure - but it sounds similar to 'Magick', 'Atlantis to Interzone' and 'Totem on The Timeline'? Can't say it's a massive change of direction; however I don't think the Klaxons formula needs meddling with to be honest. I was all for the psychedelic-hippy-grime'a'tronic music from the last record. It was a brilliant journey into their imagination and way of doing things.

I think after the third spin, I was humming it and nodding my head to the heavy riff and 'weeee-woooowww' bits in my head too. Dirty beat'age with lots of slimy riff'age and techno-art-funk graffiti-trance is how I would best describe this tune.

A good return to the much needed boring indie music scene of late (well, bar the new Foals record by the way).

I think it's looking positive for these boys, and if this tune is anything to go by, the new album will deliver.

The future is bright.... The future is new rave?! (or is that dead now...)

Got this tune a short while ago; however I cannot stop spinning this record.

I've only got into The Dream a short while ago, mostly stuff they did with Drake and my other fave song 'Fancy'.

They seem to have an air of relaxed-laid-back-chilled-method to their music, but I'm kinda into that right now.

But the melody and beat is seriously on point on this track. My fave tune of late. End of.

As much as I can't wait for the world cup to begin - I also can't get enough of the marketing and branding associated with the world cup too!

Another brilliant advert inspired by football - and more importantly Africa. PEPSI have done well here!

This is a great commercial for PEPSI; namely with the use of some pretty big named players too. Loving how everyone in the video has a funny-light hearted role to play - from Drogba, Messi, Kaka and Lampard - they all carry through the good vibes this commercial was designed to instill.

A nice funny and upbeat advert - with some great tune'age from Akon with the most hammered song on my iPod - Oh Africa. I'm loving it! (oh... that's Macdonald's isn't it?)

After watching Inter Milan claim the UEFA Champions League trophy last night - this advert followed during the commercial break.

I couldn't keep up with the number of sports personalities in this advert.

It's brilliant how they manage to include different scenarios with each twist and turn (resembling each twist and turn of fate perhaps?)

It just excited me beyond belief - a truly fitting and amazing advert by NIKE - breathtaking I tell you!

This girl can certainly drop some bars! I first heard her on 'Bedrock' with Drake and Lil' Wayne; but damn... You could easily mistake her for a Playboy Centrefold right? I loved her remix of Drake's 'Best I Ever Had' too; seriously hot!

Once you get passed the boobs, curves and the 'junk in the trunk', this girl is spitting hard fire right now.

She's pretty much going to be huge in 2010, and after hooking up with the 'Young Money Cash Money' boys; big things are in the pipe line for her.

I reckon she has that dirty-drunk-comedy delivery that Lil' Wayne prides himself on; but she has bags of sex appeal; like Lil' Kim and Trina do too. A marketable and profitable package some may say.

Is she the next 'Queen of hip-hop'?... well perhaps is far too early to consider her just yet, but i'm sure Hot 97; MTV; Vibe Magazine and all other media outlets will be pushing her tunes.

The 'Wu' have such an epic armoury of killer hip-hop hits; it's hard to pick a fave! Some people LOVE the stuff of '36 Chambers'; some people say 'The W' was epic; but I reckon this single was possibly the ultimate 'Wu' classic!
Such a pulsating bass line with an infectious 2-step hip sway to it; loving the mix of dynamite lyricage and comedy value in the video too.
With a kick ass old skool kung-fu 'Street Fighter' style fight scene mixed into the video, this tune was pure club-crazy-grimeness!
It's all about the 'back, back, and forth, and forth'!?! Try not to nod your head to this banger. Pure Genius :)

Drake is on fire and I can't wait for the album to drop! Looking forward to 'Thank Me Later' in June; this is possibly going to be one of the most eagerly awaited hip hop albums this year.

I've followed Drake for sometime now, but this song with Kanye West is beautiful. Wonderfully distorted-fuzzy-crackling-futuristic hip hop with soft delicate r'n'b tones drizzled all over it - like a warm-Matrix-fudge cake!

I guess those who loved The Carter 3 will be a little alarmed by the departure - however I feel this record and his new album Rebirth, are simply fuelled by touring stats and an excuse to try and sell out rock gigs to rake in more cash. It's a trending topic me thinks.

The album Rebirth is straight up crazy crack on punk rock Rivita - whilst blowing the studio to pieces and living out your rock n' roll urges and lustful desires.

Whatever your views, this is a heavy album which I love. This guy is not for the faint hearted. Moolahhh baaabbyyyy!?! (in a Grouch from the Muppets stylie!)

I was watching ABDC Season 3 the other night, and one of the dance crews danced to this song. It's a top awesome banging full out punk rock tune with great lyrics.

It's been around since 2006 and Head Automatica haven't been all over the charts since to be honest - but I totally love it. Top top tune!

I cannot explain just how much I'm loving Drake's mixtape 'So Far Gone'. This kid is on another level for me. I can't find a single blip on his mixtape - it's all just filler!

Tunes such as successful, uptown, brea's interlude, little bit, unstoppable, best I ever had, 18th November and Forever are absolute killer.

This guy is probably going to be the next big thing - the next Jay-Z perhaps? He does name drop him in quite a few tunes though.

Some might say, given his southern swagger and clever rhymage-adlibbing, that he has all the hip hop-rnb-bluesy qualities of a superstar; but whatever your opinion, you just can't get away from him.

I seriously love the new Chris Brown album. He's done very well with the amount of dance floor fillers on the record 'Graffiti'. I'm loving I.Y.A, Pass Out, I Can Transform Ya and Wait. Completely well thought out banging tunes. A nice development from 'Forever', he's grown up and matured well on this record.

But he's got some nice chilled tunes on there too - such as Take My Time and So Cold. This is a very good record with a lot of depth on it - perhaps some people will read 'post Rihanna' cryptic messages from it, but either way - the boy done good. He is sorry after all?

I'm loving the warped autobot deathcon beat on the video above, it's completely killer!?! Can't put this record down whatsoever - "Autobots... Roll Out!?!" vroom vroom!?!

Firing Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Cash!?!

Who doesn't love Dizzee? He's been knocking about for ages now - and he's come along way since 'I Love You' and 'Fix Up Look Sharp'. He's always had a way with killer spanking singles and pistol whipping videos draped in Evisu and bling - but this single takes it right back to the early days.

I'm totally feeling the Money Talks sample and the video is literally 'fire'! Can't get the tribal fancy dress rave bonfire theme out of my imagination - it's a total killer record.

However, there are those who think this guy only rose to our screens due to Mercury Music Prize winnings and humping Radio 1 weekly. Nevertheless - I tilt my hat to some dirr'ty grime brappage!

Culture Shock 2 is here! Massive Sunny Brown, Lomaticc & Baba Kahn!

I am totally loving Culture Shock 2! I've been waiting ages for this record to drop, and after the huge success of Culture Shock 1 East Meets West - the hit parade has landed again.

There isn't hardly a bad tune on this record, I love 'Fida', 'So Fine', 'King', 'Love Song', 'Avenue' and 'Dil' - there's a lot of depth on all of the songs, with brilliant production and awesome hooks and desi lyric'age!

Sunny Brown's desi spitting is brilliant and Lomattic does add some wonderful sweet smooth tones all over the tunes.

Baba Kahn has done very well on selecting the featured Guest list on the album too; namely featuring Twista and Sean Paul!

It's absolute fire this record, and if you are an avid hardcore red blooded desi bhangra head - then you need to go get this record now!

Duck Sauce - aNYway! Boogie on down!

I recently heard this song on Radio 1 and saw this brilliant video this evening. It's a wicked mix by Armand Van Helden and A TRAK.

I love the good-feel happy-chirpy funky beat and addictive organ all over this song. I can't help but think of Saturday nights out and dancefloors being tied to this tune. It's a wonderful mix of uptempo disco and eclectic Armand back on form.

This is one of the best dance tunes I've heard for a long time and the video is just genius all over. What fab dance moves and crazy outfits galore!

Now simply just boogie on down my son! Get in!

Northern Lights - Re-Lit! Massive!

I loved Northern Lights first album 'Sparked' which offered some of the best cutting edge bhangra beats going. But their new album 'Re-Lit' is out this week and I cannot wait to get hold of it.

I loved almost all of the first record, particularly 'Janaab', 'Billo Tere Nakhre' and 'Mirza Boliyaan' but I recently heard their new jump off song 'Akhan De Ishareh' which sounds much more polished and refined than the past few tunes.

It has lovely indie drums and a nice bit of guitar work to accompany the flutes and dhols. Definately worth a few listens.

These guys are one of the few desi bands that are seriously cutting edge and unique judging by their quality outage. No fillers, just pure 100% desi maal!

I loved the banging deathly base drop on 'Janaab' with the fast paced punjabi spitting all over the rapid tabla/dhol. If you love your bhangra fresh and quality assured, you need look no further than with 'Northern Lights'.

Try not to nod your head and 2-step to this bhangra-shangra!?! Massive gaana-shaana!?!

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart! Tune!?!

Since I heard 'Come on girl' and 'She's like a star', I got good vibes from camp Taio Cruz. This guy can't half put a tune together!

I heard this song on the radio the other day and I absolutely fell in love with the pulsating dance/electro/r'n'b throbbing drive of a tune.

The video to this song is an amazing speedboat-gorgeous girl grabbing-shade wearing-summer theme footage to make you just want to escape it all and hit the beach... Sigh...

Anyways, I found this BBC live lounge version of the song 'Break your heart'. It's a different version of the song, but just as addictive and with his funky band too.

Show some love for this guy - he's representing real hard. Heavy tune. End of.

Kishore Kumar - A Legend!

'Tere Chehre Se Nazar Nahin Hata' is one of the most lovely happy bolly songs of all time (in my humble opinion!)

I absolutely love and live on Kishore Kumar songs. The simple construction and angelic tones of Kishore and Lata on this song are wonderfully romantic and beautiful.

He had so many hits and songs around the 70's; he could have well monopolised Eros himself and tendered for whatever movie he wanted!

I just wanted to voice my appreciation for what most new desi music has been based and sampled on in modern times.

Please all stand up and salute one of the all time greats. Just try not to crack a warm smile to this song :)

How bloody average is Alexandra Burke?!

I can't help wondering how damn average this girl is? She doesn't have the most amazing voice in the world and her dancing is slightly 'drunk stripper 'esque' - so I guess what I'm trying to say is... Do we really need her?

I mean, Leona was something else - and we can't knock the vocals on 'Bleeding Love', but then again, her personality is something which is lacking if we are to believe the press.

Alexandra is a pretty giggly funny 'u can have a laugh with anyone' kinda girl - and one which I don't find cringe worthy. But her music just ain't cutting it for me - not anything like the stuff Beyonce, Ciara, Rihanna, Shakira and others are pumping out.

Oh well, it's a catchy song and something you can watch on GMTV whilst having your corn flakes.

Imran Khan - Amplifier!

How s%#t hot is Imran Khan's album 'Unforgettable'?! This album has put a lot of new skool Asian desi tunes into perspective for me.

The album is one whole journey filled with killer beats, clever word rhymage, refined production - and most of all - hard core punjabi lyrics!

It's absolutely bloody brilliant, and heavy dance tunes such as 'Amplifier', 'Bounce Billo', 'Qott Ghusian Da', 'Nazar' and 'Chak Glass' are seriously awesome when turned up to 11!

There's something for everyone if you love the new bhangra flavas out these days, but it's a brilliant album for 2009.

There have been some great records this year when considering desi beats, namely by AG Dollar, Jaz Dhami, Miss Pooja and Swami - but Imran Khan has killed it!

Now, I know you all know a few of the words to the video above... 'Knight rider? Woofer? Black leather seats?' The list is endless... :)

How rubbish are the Arctic Monkeys now?! Very, I say

I was quite addicted to the Arctic Monkeys on their past two albums, but I'm simply disgusted with their latest offering, 'Humbug'.

I guess when you're one of the biggest bands in the UK and you've sold shed loads of albums, the logical thing to do is... Erm,.. Alienate your fans and put out a dreary dull dishwater album, to only satisfy your own ego?! I don't get it at all.

I can't understand how their management allowed this to happen, but I guess it's a clever way to see who your real fans are? The one's who stick it out for you.

I can't be bothered with the lack of clever rhyming couplets and wicked imagery on this new album, which they had on their past two albums.

It's just a more slow tempo pedestrian album, which at times does have clever delivery and possibly mercurial timing on Alex Turner's part - but it's not enough to forgive them.

I think they're losing the plot to be honest, perhaps there are quite a few AM fans who may well agree with me.

Or maybe I just don't get them anymore...

Ignoring the Ignorant (The Cribs)

The Cribs new album, 'Ignore The Ignorant' is a fantastic mature well delivered record that is probably their best yet.

There are lots of great riffy catchy tunes on here. Namely 'We Share The Same Skies', 'Hari Kari', 'We Were Aborted', 'Cheat On Me' and 'Emasculate Me'. The whole album is a much cleaner sounding record with great finish; largely helped along with the fixed asset who is now Johnny Marr.

It's a really poppy album at times, and some of the bonus tracks you can get with this CD are ace and well worth a listen. I didn't think this new album would have been better than 'Mens Needs, Womens Needs, Whatever'. But it actually is, and I'm very happy with the result.

I have followed and loved The Cribs for some time now, and I'm really pleased that they delivered well with this new album.

Here is a recent session they did at the BBC, and a great recording of 'Cheat On Me'. They really are a band you can't help getting behind and just supporting during this bleak time for the UK music scene.

I love The Cribs - I hope you do too.

The new Prodigy album is amazing! End of.

I pretty much love all of this album. There isn't a bad punk electro rave-up face smashing 'choone' on there! It's really heavy and riffy throughout, and the old skool chimes/sirens/alarms are tuned up to 11 all the way through.

'Invaders Must Die' is an essential must have album, and I'm so glad The Prodigy are back on fine form. I think this is (wait for it...) probably their best album yet? (yes, I said it!).

Either way, I love the video to 'Warriors Dance', it's very clever with use of cigarette boxes and fire sequences to instigate some form of illegal rave burn out party?!

Jay-Z, B3 and Empire State Of Mind

After living with 'The Blueprint 3' for a few weeks now, I've realised that some of the stuff on it is seriously ahead if it's time.

Songs such as 'Off that', 'Empire State of Mind', 'Haters', 'Run This Town' and 'D.O.A' carry a lot of weight when considering how they are produced and put together. I didn't quite get them at first, but they have grown on me now.

Other songs like 'On To Next One' and 'Thank You' bring out the clever word play Jay-Z is notorious for, and show case his intelligent ability to make you chuckle at the simplist of verses.

The rest of the album is ok, but it's probably one of the most complete hip hop albums for some time. One that I was glad lived up to it's hype.

My favourite song off B3 is 'Empire State of Mind'. I love the imagery and descriptive verbage Jay-Z spits out; accompanied with the angelic tones of Alicia Keys throughout each chorus. Plus the whole New York lyrical landscaping is done quite well I think.

The buzz surrounding B3 is still about, and the fire is still persistently burning for Jay-Z (as it always has done for many of us). Enjoy.

MJ and Rockin' Robin!!!

This is one of my all time favourite songs by MJ (Jackson 5). Such a simple song that just engages you and brings a smile to your face.

I love the kooky whistley flutey chirps on this song too. Plus the dance routine and outfits were ace.

It's sad that MJ isn't here anymore but his music will live on forever. That's all I really need to say everyone. Goonight (and have a little dance for MJ too) :)

Damn I'm glad Mos Def came back with a hot new album this year! After a couple of 'not quite there yet' offerings, he is back on absolutely top form.

Its been a while since I heard anything as magical and glee enducing as 'Miss Phat Booty', but on his new album, 'The Ecstatic', there are so many albsolute corkers that I simply have to put the volume up and push the corner sofa back?!

I love most of his new album, namely 'Casa Bay', 'Supermagic' , 'Revelations' and 'Wahid'. It's bloody irresistably intelligently inviting hip hop music from (one of) Brooklyn's finest.

Glad to have you back Mos! Here is a great performance he did on the Letterman show not so long ago. Still can't get over Mos rapping and drumming a beat at the same time?!

Now, altogether now after three... 'simmer down now, simmer down now, simmer down, simmer down, quiet dog bite HARD!!!'

I love topman! It has a great deal of amazing clothes. I love their very fitted and skinny suits. The prices are affordable and competitive. The quality of the fabrics, cut of the suits, differing colours and designs - just makes me such a fan of the stores.

I don't know where else I would go for skinny fitted suits. I have purchased many designer and high street suits, but nothing quite fits like a Topman suit.

I have followed, watched and listened to Maximo Park for about 7 years now. I first heard of them back when I was at uni, and they had Graffiti and Apply some pressure out. I loved their quirky sound and honest manner to song writing. I've grown with this band and guess my own tastes have developed along with their own music too.

I love all their albums, despite what the press and other music mags say. I admire Paul and the lads and can't wait to see them next week.

This is one of my favourite songs off the new album, Quicken the heart, and one I'm listening to alot right now. It's such a whirlwind of an indie tune with a real purposeful drive to the horizon. I hope you like it too, or perhaps give it a decent chance.

To the Park it is then! Let's go :)

Soni De Nakhre is perhaps one of the most awesome banging full out Hindi songs going. Period. The film Partner was a larger than slight copy of Hitch - but it's bloody funny and Katrina, Salmaan and Govinda kick comical butt throughout the sketch.

I can't help cutting a rug to this tune, whether it's at a party or just in the confines of your own bedroom - simply amazing!

I love the Kings of Leon. So do most of the UK public, but when some clever UK grime boys take one of the best tunes of 2009 and create a damn hot rappin' jive - you need to pay attention people.

I saw Shakira on MTV the other day and I was totally blown away by her new song, her new look and those amazing dance moves?! I love She Wolf! This song is such a lovely 70's floating butterfly of a shimmy with quirky hooky rhymes and wolf shreeking noises. Perfect.

Absolutely gorgeous and refreshingly different from the norm of Lady GaGa and Katy Perry tunes kicking about the moment.
